Beyond the Office
A Ruck Into Transformational Therapy
Step outside the clinical setting and into a nature-based approach for healing. Join us for an immersive experience designed exclusively for mental health professionals looking to integrate movement, nature, and somatic practices into their client work.
What?
Join us for a powerful 3-hour immersive experience designed exclusively for mental health professionals looking to integrate movement, nature, and somatic practices into their client work. Through guided Therapeutic Rucking, a fire and stick ritual, an optional cold plunge, and a fireside integration discussion, you’ll experience firsthand the transformative impact of nature-based therapy while gaining practical tools to use in your practice.

Where?
Set in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains along the West Branch Mill River, Heartwood Expeditions headquarters is basecamp for most retreat and group activities. At 1,200 feet, our site is home to abundant wildlife, wetlands, hemlock forests, and rolling terrain, making it a prime location to learn about and connect more deeply with nature. Our events take place outdoors rain or shine.

Why?

In our busy lives it is often easy to forget the importance of connection and community, and the value of returning to experiences that foster joy and play. Our hope is for all participants to experience these key takeways:
-
Practical strategies to integrate movement and nature into therapy sessions
-
Hands-on experience with somatic and eco-therapy interventions
-
Personal embodiment of resilience, mindfulness, and nervous system regulation
-
A supportive community of like-minded professionals
