Provider Peer Support Groups

Connection to Self            Connection to Other           Connection to Nature

Connection is at the center of all Heartwood programming. While disconnection is the source of much human suffering, it is through connection that we can engage in a meaningful life.

What?

Come join us for our first provider support group! Our hope is to build and strengthen a supportive community of healthcare and mental health providers, with a shared interest in cultivating comprehensive care through nature and mindfulness. Our outdoor group sessions will take place once every season, and our hope is to extend additional offerings based on interest. Our first group will involve a variety of somatic and mindfulness practices, while connecting with and attuning to one another and our natural surroundings. The first half of our afternoon/evening will focus on group-based activities, and the second half will transition to a casual fire/dinner hangout.

Where?

Set in the foothills of the Berkshire Mountains along the West Branch Mill River, Heartwood Expeditions headquarters is basecamp for all retreat activities. At 1,200 feet, our site is home to abundant wildlife, wetlands, hemlock forests, and rolling terrain, making it a prime location to learn about and connect more deeply with nature. Our events take place outdoors rain or shine.

Why?

In our busy lives it is often easy to forget the importance of connection and community, and the value of returning to experiences that foster joy and play. Our hope is create opportunities for participants to connect in meaningful ways, learn new skills, and have some wholehearted fun! We are excited for the chance to spend time with old and new friends, share our collective wisdom, and enjoy a restorative afternoon/evening together.
